About

Welcome to my website!

Originally from south Texas, I earned my PhD in Victorian literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2013. In 2016, I moved from Montreal to Pennsylvania, where I work as a writer and adjunct professor.

My research and teaching interests include nineteenth-century British literature, Neo-Victorian Studies, Victorian popular literature, Cultural Studies, adaptation theory, twentieth-century middlebrow culture, theories of gender and sexuality, and theories of play. I have been a guest contributor to the Journal of Victorian Culture Online and The Toast. From 2015 to 2017, I worked as a staff writer for Bustle, writing on viral content, feminism, news, and a variety of lifestyle topics.
